The Ibis Oso TR is designed as a versatile electric trail bike for long days on the trail, technical climbs, and confident descents. With 160 mm of front travel and 150 mm of rear travel, it offers the ideal balance of efficiency, comfort, and performance, making it an excellent choice for riders looking for a single e-MTB that can handle just about anything—from quick afternoon rides to all-day explorations of more challenging trails. The modular dropout system allows for adjustment of the rear triangle length and rear wheel configuration. The SM and MD sizes come standard with the MX configuration, featuring a 29-inch front wheel and a 27.5-inch rear wheel, along with 440 mm chainstays. The XM, LG, and XL sizes are designed around 29-inch wheels and come with 455 mm chainstays. The modular dropout system allows for further customization, as the Oso TR supports both 27.5-inch and 29-inch rear wheels. The Bosch Performance Line CX Gen5 drive unit provides powerful, quiet, and natural assistance. The motor delivers strong pedal assistance, precise torque delivery, and reliable performance even on technically demanding terrain. The Oso TR is therefore efficient on climbs, yet playful and responsive enough for dynamic riding on undulating trails. The system is complemented by the Bosch Kiox 400c display, which comes as standard equipment. It is mounted on the top tube of the frame and provides a clear overview of key ride data, battery status, and system operation. The integration is clean, simple, and designed not to interfere with the ride. The battery system combines a 600 Wh internal battery with the option to use an additional Bosch PowerMore 250 Wh battery. The total capacity can thus reach up to 850 Wh, offering greater flexibility depending on the type of ride. For shorter, faster rides, the bike remains lighter and more agile; for longer, all-day tours, a range extender can be added. The battery is mounted low and centrally in the frame, which improves the bike’s balance, stability, and handling. The Oso TR uses Ibis’s proven DW-Link suspension, designed by Dave Weagle. The system is known for its excellent pedaling efficiency, high traction, and active suspension performance on challenging terrain. It helps maintain stability and power transfer on climbs, while providing a confident feel, control, and traction on descents. The frame is made of carbon fiber and features size-specific geometry. This means that the geometry, chainstay length, bottom bracket height, and suspension kinematics are tailored to each frame size. The result is a balanced ride feel across the entire size range—from SM to XL, including the XM size, which bridges the gap between medium and large. The continuous seat tube design allows for deep insertion of a dropper seatpost, making it possible to use long-travel seatposts across the entire size range. The frame also offers plenty of tire clearance and is compatible with most 2.5-inch tires, further emphasizing its trail and all-mountain orientation. The Oso TR is equipped with robust protection for the frame, motor, and down tube, which is particularly important for an electric trail bike. The frame supports Boost axles, a 55 mm chainline, a 200 mm rear brake mount compatible with rotors up to 220 mm, and chainrings ranging from 32 to 36 teeth. Like all Ibis frames, the Oso TR comes with a lifetime warranty on the frame and dropouts. Bosch components are covered by a two-year warranty. If there’s a manufacturer defect, they’ll fix it—simply and without hassle.
