Description The White Industries CLD Rear Hub is a lightweight, precision-machined Center Lock disc rear hub built for road, gravel, mountain, and touring bikes. We machine, assemble, and inspect every hub in our Petaluma, California facility. As a result, the CLD delivers smooth performance, lasting durability, and premium American craftsmanship. The CLD traces its heritage back to the original White Industries Ti Cassette Hub introduced in 1992. For more than 30 years, we’ve refined our hub designs through real-world testing and continuous innovation. Today, every CLD carries the same proven DNA: simple engineering, dependable performance, and long-lasting reliability. The CLD uses the Shimano Center Lock disc rotor interface for fast, secure rotor installation and dependable braking performance. Therefore, it’s an excellent choice for road and gravel bikes that demand low weight and a clean, minimalist look. At the same time, its durable construction makes it equally capable on mountain bikes and loaded touring builds. When in doubt, the CLD is the easy choice. At the heart of the CLD is a heat-treated, black-oxide 4130 steel axle with lightweight aluminum axle ends. Four premium Enduro sealed cartridge bearings support the hub—two in the 6061-T6 aluminum hub shell and two in the 6Al-4V titanium freehub body. Together, they provide smooth rolling performance, efficient power transfer, and exceptional long-term durability. Choose from four spoke drilling options, seven anodized colors, two axle configurations, and five freehub body options. With 280 possible combinations, it’s easy to build a custom wheelset that matches your bike, drivetrain, and riding style. Whether you’re riding pavement, racing gravel, exploring mountain trails, or touring long distances, the CLD delivers premium Made in the USA performance built to last.
